Photography has changed my life in more ways than one. It has given me the ability to express my art, but it has also connected me to people and a profession I really care about.
When I teach basic photography workshops I like to tell my students, “I aim to get photos that show people a whole new perspective”. I feel like the photographer’s eye can create a window for someone to see themselves, or their relationships in a whole new light.
I love working with my husband, Steve, he is an integral part of my business. We usually shoot weddings together, but when he’s out of town I shoot with other great assistants. Steve is my “tech head” who loves the camera shopping and computer maintenance, and I’m the creative force and people-person in our photography.
I feel so incredibly blessed to be established in the Okanagan wedding industry. I don’t take my job for granted…I am so thankful. Everytime I am shooting a couple’s special day I am reminded that I’m doing what I love, and that my photos are going to be with them for a lifetime. Knowing the meaning behind what I do makes me sink my whole heart into every shoot.
If you watch the online “video” I’ve posted I talk a little more about my life and art, and tell about my artistic approach to photography.
